INK Youth Zine Project logoThe INK Youth Zine Project supports Maine-made zines with grants and workshops. The only one of Bangor Media Collective’s projects to be aimed only at people age 23 and under, the project gives out an average of $450 a year in direct and indirect assistance to youth who write, publish, edit and contribute to zines.

To apply for a grant, you should be 23 or under (or part of an organization– see below!) and have an idea of the zine you’d like to create. It may also already be created and ready to print. Just fill out the super-quick application, and the INK advisory board will review the application. We’ll contact you in 2-4 weeks and let you know if we are able to support your project.

Organizations: Organizations that serve youth are also invited to apply if the zine will be created by youth. In the best applications, youth have a serious role in not only creating content, but making decisions about how to present the content.
